Ownership Transition

MBV Law LLP has an active and highly successful ownership transition practice, focused on assisting design professionals, including architects, engineers and interior and graphic designers. The practice group is headed up by Bill Mandel, who has specialized in ownership transition for over thirty years. Bill has developed programs that have fostered the growth of A/E firms over multiple generations of ownership and leadership.

At MBV Law LLP, we approach the ownership transition process as a collaborative effort. We initially meet with the firm’s current owner or owners and its other professional advisors to understand the firm’s needs and goals. Once that understanding is achieved, we work with the leadership group and its advisors to create and implement an ownership transition plan that will attract and retain the next generation of firm leaders, ensure firm continuity and provide the current leaders with an exit strategy that rewards them for their efforts in building the firm. We have many clients who have been able to transfer ownership and leadership to multiple generations of owners with ease and confidence, because of carefully developed transition planning.

MBV Law LLP also provides a wide range of other cost-effective legal services to architectural, engineering, environmental consulting, construction, and interior design firms.

The MBV Law team collaborated on the development of “Architect’s Essentials of Ownership Transition“, a popular book on ownership transition for the architect profession and other similar firms.
