Representative employment law matters include:

  • Conducted approximately 20 labor arbitrations on behalf of management of a Fortune 500 company under two collective bargaining  agreements, including both contract interpretation and disciplinary matters.
  • Obtained a binding arbitration award successfully defending an employer sued  for wrongful termination by a former manager, which included judgment for the employer on a cross-claim for advances and loans made to the former manager.
  • Obtained summary judgment for a Fortune 500 Company in a case for Wrongful Termination in Violation of Public Policy brought by a former in-house attorney.
  • Achieved “no probable cause” rulings from the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the federal EEOC in claims of employment discrimination.
  • Settled sexual harassment lawsuits brought or threatened against high level executives, including the founder and CEO of two of the companies, on favorable terms.
  • Assisted clients in navigating the complex reasonable accommodation of disability cases.
  • Advised clients on employee performance and disciplinary matters, terminations, and reductions in force.
  • Advised clients on furlough, pay reduction and layoff issues.
