March 22, 2012 The CFO’s Food Safety Compliance Hot Seat is About to Get a Lot Hotter

Food & Beverage CFO Roundtable Sponsored by MBV Law LLP, Grant Thornton LLP, and California Bank of Commerce
Food industry regulatory and administrative law expert Leslie Krasny of Keller & Heckman LLP will discuss Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) issues. The recently adopted Food Safety Modernization Act contains a myriad of new requirements associated with the production and processing of food. FSMA expands the scope of the FDA to conduct broader inspections, requires the registration of food production facilities, enables the suspension of facilities for compliance issues, and can result in personal liability to parties who fail to prevent violations. FSMA imposes new obligations for internal monitoring, record-keeping and reporting that substantially increase the burden of companies engaged in food production, and the risks and penalties for noncompliance. Every business involved in the production or processing of food should be fully informed and ready as the requirements of the law are implemented in the coming months.

Please join us at the inaugural meeting of the Food and Beverage CFO Roundtable to learn more about this important and timely topic. To register for this complimentary seminar or for more information, please contact Cynthia Maxey at Cynthia@mbvlaw.com or 415-781-4400.
