Bob is an employment lawyer who provides a full range of legal services confronting employers and managers. Bob handles employment litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution in cases involving personnel and employment matters. He has handled cases in all Bay Area superior courts and is admitted to practice in the federal Northern, Eastern, and Central district courts of California. He has also litigated approximately twenty labor arbitrations involving both discipline and contract interpretation issues, most of which were heard in Southern California. A native of Salinas, California, Bob has litigated many civil cases in Monterey County.
In 2010, Bob passed the Washington state bar examination. He became an active member of the Washington State Bar Association on November 10, 2010 and is admitted in all state courts in Washington.
Since 1984, Bob has counseled both privately held and publicly traded companies about employee performance management, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, reductions in force, independent contractor, and wage and hour issues.
Bob works closely with his employment law colleague at MBV Law, Eli Gould, in managing the employment law problems of MBV clients. Their combined range and depth of experience offers a unique senior team resource in the employment area for all MBV clients.
Before joining MBV Law, Bob was a founding partner in the civil litigation firm of O’Donnell & Pia from 1986 to 1997. He began his legal career in 1984 at the former San Francisco law firm of Horwich & Warner after receiving his J.D. degree (cum laude) from the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. Bob received his undergraduate degree with High Honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 1981.
Bob lives in Corte Madera, California where he served on the Planning Commission for five years.
