L. Peter (”Pete”) Ryan is a trial lawyer with more than 25 years of expertise in real estate litigation specializing in landlord tenant law. Pete has practiced with MBV for over a decade and began his career negotiating complex retail leases at the Ernest Hahn Company, then one of the largest shopping center developers in the country. He was an associate and partner in the Santa Barbara law firm of Reetz, Fox & Bartlett from 1987-1995. For clients that own, lease, invest in, manage or develop real estate and have disputes with tenants, landlords, co-owners, adjoining landowners, homeowner’s associations, contractors, broker/agents, lenders, title companies or sellers or purchasers, Pete advises and counsels on mediation and arbitration of these types of disputes and litigates these types of cases to verdict. Additionally, he represents clients with a need for aggressive collection of money or a judgment, including bankruptcy matters. He also maintains a transactional practice primarily involving lease negotiations for both landlords and tenants.
Pete is graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara (B.A. Business Economics, 1982) and the University of San Diego School of Law (J.D., 1985). He is an avid golfer and competitive triathlete. As a member of the Olympic Club, Pete has completed numerous marathons including the Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, and Marine Corps marathons and is a 10 year and counting veteran of the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. In his athletic endeavors as well as his professional life, he is committed to respect for family and one another, continuing education, and hard work and personal development. Pete is married and lives in San Francisco with his wife Danna Kozerski and is the proud father of Eleanore and William Ryan.
